HORRY COUNTY, S.C. (WPDE) — The Horry County School District is partnering with Care Solace to help families and staff find access to mental health services.
If an employee, parent or student needs access to services that the school counselors can not provide, the district will make a referral to Care Solace to help them find the service they need.
ABC15 reported last week that the head of Horry County's Health and Student Services said they are overwhelmed right now.

The state recommends 20 to 25 students per counselor, but some are taking on 40 to 45.
The director of counseling services for the district, Tonya Pickett, said the partnership helps make sure no student misses out on what they need.
"Our district is giving us an option in a way to ensure we aren't losing any kids and that we are reaching everyone. Also, a great way to be able to serve our community and our employees as well," Pickett said.
If you're a parent who is concerned about your child, you should reach out to their school counselor to get assistance through the Care Solace program.
