A great white shark that was tagged back in December near Hilton Head Island has 'pinged' off the coast near Myrtle Beach, according to the Atlantic White Shark Conservancy.

Amy, a 9-foot white shark, was first tagged by Massachusetts Division of Marine Fisheries's Dr. Greg Skomal and Captain Chip Michalove of Outcast Sport Fishing.

Michalove tweeted on Tuesday that Amy was "one of my favorites. Glad to see she's staying in the region."

The shark pinged about 85 miles off the coast of Myrtle Beach.
