Grand Strand Gertrude takes trip around the area on Groundhog Day

MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. (WPDE) — Punxsutawney Phil isn't the only groundhog emerging on Feb. 2.

Be on the lookout for the groundhog “Grand Strand Gertrude” who is making appearances across the Myrtle Beach area on Groundhog Day.

Around 9:47 p.m., the first update on Gertrude was made! The Facebook post read:

Happy Groundhog's Day! It doesn't matter that Phil saw his shadow, because there is always something to do at The Beach. Take a look at how Phil's cousin Gertrude spent her day on the Grand Strand.
