MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. (WPDE) — $2.50 might not get you much these days, but it could make all the difference in the world to a child in need.
That's how much it costs to feed a child for one week with the Help 4 Kids "Sponsor a Child" program. The Horry County non-profit is asking for sponsors to step up during October, which they call "Sponsor a Child" month.
Help 4 Kids has helped feed hundreds of hungry children across the Grand Strand in just the past year, but there's always a need for donors.
"Everything that we give the children is donated, so we totally depend on donations to feed the kids. We want to make sure no child goes to bed hungry," volunteer Edie Nanick said.
Donations for the program can be made in the form of monthly $10 donations, or a one-time $120 payment that will feed a child for an entire year.
