Florence woman badly hurt after being struck by SUV during hit-and-run crash

A woman remains in the hospital after being struck by a car in a hit and run this past Saturday night in the 100 block of South Cashua Drive in Florence, according to Lt. Mike Brandt with Florence police.

Brandt said the woman was crossing the street when the car hit her, then took off.

Police say the vehicle involved in the collision was a black or dark older model two-door Ford Explorer SUV and it left the scene traveling east on Evans Street.

Brandt said there were no witnesses.
