Deputies arrested a Florence School District One volunteer Tuesday after he had in his possession, a knife and airsoft pistol at West Florence High School, according to Chief Deputy Glen Kirby with the Florence County Sheriff's Office.

Evan David Pack, 20, is charged with carrying weapons on school property, Kirby confirmed.

He added a school employee noticed a knife on Pack's book bag and alerted the school resource officer (SRO.)

Kirby said the SRO checked Pack's book bag and found the airsoft pistol. An airsoft pistol shoot soft pellets.

Pack was at the school volunteering with the district's orchestra program, Kirby said.

The Florence County Detention Center's website shows Pack is being held as of Tuesday night.

No word on when a bond hearing will be held for him.
