Florence murder suspect arrested in Lee County

FLORENCE COUNTY, S.C. (WPDE) - The Carolina Regional Fugitive Task Force arrested Tirik Jaquan Johnson-Epps in Bishopville Friday afternoon on a murder warrant out of Florence, according to Lt. Mike Brandt with Florence police.

Brandt said Epps is charged with murder and possession of a weapon during a violent crime stemming from the deadly shooting of Tydrecus Deshawn Williams last month in the 200 block of Lucas Street in Florence.

The Florence Police Dept., the South Carolina Law Enforcement Division, U.S. Marshals Service, Bishopville Police Dept., Lee County Sheriff’s Office and the Florence County Sheriff's Office assisted in the investigation.

The Florence County Sheriff's Office has deputies assigned to the task force and played a major role in Epps' arrest, according to Florence County Chief Deputy Glen Kirby.

Quinterris Javon Carmichael and Tyrin Jones are also charged in connection wtih the murder. They were arrested last month.

Epps is being held at the Florence County Detention Center where he's awaiting a bond hearing.
