Charles Durell Nethercutt, 32, is wanted for the attempted murder of his wife after he poured gas on her last week and set her on fire, according to Major Michael Nunn with the Florence County Sheriff's Office.

Amanda "Mandie" Brillhart Nethercutt suffered severe burns over a large portion of her body and was transported for treatment.

An incident report states, when deputies got to the home, they found Nethercutt inside being treated by EMS.

It says she was alert and able to tell them her husband poured gasoline on her from the jug they used for the lawn mower and then lit it.

The report goes on to say Nethercutt had left the home with the couple's 14-month-old son in his wife's 2009 silver Mazda.

Nunn said the child is no longer with Nethercutt, but can't say what he did with the boy or who the child is with at this time.

We've emailed Nunn asking him if the child is safe. We're waiting to hear back from him.

The report says there was black soot in the master bedroom. It says there was also a lighter laying on the floor in the middle of the burned area.

A gas can that is believed to have been used in the incident was located inside the garage, according to the report.

Nethercutt remains in the hospital and could be there for quite some time.

Her longtime family friend Doug Bridges has set up a GoFundMe account to help with her medical expenses.

So, far it has raised nearly $20,000, but Bridges said a lot more money is needed because of Nethercutt's injuries.

"She has to have cold towels on her 24 hours a day. So, she's cold. And the pain--the pain is immeasurable. And, there's going to be surgeries. There will be surgeries just on and on and on, probably once every two or three weeks for a long time to replace this burned flesh that she's lost," said Bridges.

He said Nethercutt is a 2012 graduate of the Citadel University in Charleston.

He added she's a strong woman and a fighter.

Investigators say they are trying to track down Nethercutt.

He is described as approximately 6 feet tall, weighing approximately 230 pounds with black hair and brown eyes and tattoos on both arms, according to Nunn.

Anyone with knowledge or information regarding the whereabouts of Nethercutt is asked to contact FCSO Investigators at 843-665-2121, ext. 317 or Crime Stoppers of the Pee Dee at 1-888-CRIME-SC or text tip at #CRIME.
