Myrtle Beach Firefighters flipped sausage and pancakes for the seventh annual Pancakes and Santa event on Sunday.

The event raises money for underprivileged children in Myrtle Beach area schools.

Organizers said about 30 kids will receive gifts this year. Money raised will be used for a shopping spree at Target.

Brian Wastler started it all seven years ago and Adam Oleszkowicz has helped him since the first breakfast.

"Sometimes you run into children and families in the community that could use a little extra help especially around the holiday season. Every child should have the opportunity to experience Christmas," said Oleszkowicz.

Organizers say 150 area children have benefited from the breakfast since it started in 2010.

The event was held at St. John the Baptist Greek Orthodox Church.
