Fire damages the old Timmonsville boys and girls club

A fire Tuesday night badly damaged the old Timmonsville boys and girls club at Pinckney and Main streets, according to Sardis-Timmonsville Fire Chief Jeff Dennis.

Dennis said the flames were pretty heavy at the front of the building when firefighters got on scene.

Part of the roof caved in due to the fire, Dennis said.

He added it took them about three hours to get the fire fully contained and under control.

Dennis said the building is now being used as a warehouse for a business owner.

The cause of the fire hasn't been determined.
