FDTC President retires

Dr. Ben Dillard resigns (WPDE file)

FDTC President Dr. Ben Dillard has retired effective immediately, following a special called meeting Thursday night at the college.

The announcement comes after many questioned the college's financial stability.

FDTC has to pay back nearly $1.7 million to the U.S. Department of Education for federal financial student aid violations.

The State Law Enforcement Division (SLED) is also conducting an inquiry into allegations of misappropriation of funds at the college.

Edward Bethea has been named acting president.
