Dillon man wanted for attempted murder after nightclub shooting surrenders to deputies

Earl Gene Johnson, 37, of Hamer, turned himself in to deputies with the Dillon County Sheriff’s Office Wednesday night on a charge of attempted murder, according to Captain Cliff Arnette with the Dillon County Sheriff’s Office.

Arnette said Johnson is accused of shooting someone back on August 2 the Reflexxions Club on Highway 301 in the Hamer community of Dillon County.

Two people were shot at the club that day, and Johnson is only accused of shooting one, according to Arnette.

One of the shooting victims, Carlos McKay, died and the Dillon County Sheriff’s Office has charged 30-year-old Christopher John Flowers with his murder.

Johnson is currently in custody at the Dillon County Detention Center.
