Derias J'Shawn Little, 17, remains in jail Wednesday night, after appearing before a Myrtle Beach Municipal Judge Tuesday morning.

Little is accused in connection with a shooting that happened along Ocean Boulevard in downtown Myrtle Beach Father's Day weekend.

During his hearing Tuesday, the judge said Little had a serious and violent criminal record. ABC15 News dug deeper into Little's criminal past to find out more.

According to North Carolina court documents, Little's earliest run in the law we received happened in September 2015.

Documents show Little stole two pitbull puppies from a home. Those documents don't go into details leading up to his arrest.

Six months after his arrest, Little was found guilty and sentenced to 20 days in jail and probation for a year. But court documents show Little never showed up to serve his time.

He was charged with failure to appear and arrested in November 2015.

Little has been arrested at least five other times since that incident.

In September 2015, Little was arrested for possession and possession with intent to manufacture, sell and deliver of marijuana.

In November 2015, Little was arrested on two different occasions; one for possession of cocaine, and the other for felony breaking and entering, felony larceny after breaking and entering, and a misdemeanor of injury to personal property.

According to the arrest warrant, Little was charged with stealing a Sony Playstation 4, two cell phones, a pair of shoes, and a Playstation game. He was also charged for breaking doors and a window of the home.

Little was found guilty on the cocaine charge.

In August 2016, Little was arrested for conspiracy of breaking and entering, felony larceny, and a misdemeanor of injury to personal property. According to the arrest warrant, Little and another defendant broke into a home and destroyed a window.

In November of 2016, Little was arrested for felony possession of a mass destruction weapon, misdemeanor of carrying concealed gun and possession of a handgun as a minor.

The arrest warrant states Little had a 20 gauge shotgun with a sawed off barrel and a .22 revolver at the time of his arrest.

As far as we know from documents we received from the North Carolina courts, this is Little's last run in with the law before the incident along Ocean Boulevard in Myrtle Beach.

According to North Carolina court records, Little is scheduled to be in court later this month. Those appearances are listed for larceny of a dog, probation violation, felony possession of stolen goods or property and felony larceny.
