Deputy involved in fatal pedestrian crash on administrative duty
HORRY COUNTY, S.C. (WPDE) —
The Horry County Sheriff's deputy who was involved in a deadly pedestrian crash Friday night has been placed on administrative duty.
The Horry County Sheriff's Office says Deputy First Class Greg Maggart is fulfilling administrative duties and has not been placed on leave.
DFC Maggart, who was on-duty, was traveling northbound on Highway 31 near Robert Grissom Parkway when he struck 35-year-old Marcus Williamson, of Conway. Williamson suffered multiple traumatic injuries and died on scene, according to South Carolina Highway Patrol.
No charges have been filed.
The case remains under investigation by SCHP.
