Man arrested in connection with Pawleys Island car break-ins

Deputies seek man wanted in connection with Pawleys Island car break-ins (GCSO)

Georgetown County Sheriff's Office says a man wanted in connection with a series of car break-ins has been identified and arrested.

Last week, GCSO put out a call for the public's help to identify a man who was captured in security footage breaking into cars in the Pawleys Island area.

On August 16, GCSO announced that the man had been arrested.

He has been identified as Adam Tyler Bell, 29, of Socastee.

Bell now faces charges of larceny from motor vehicles.

GCSO credited a person who saw Bell's photo on the GCSO social media pages for solving the case.

“This suspect would still be at large without the public’s help in identifying him from surveillance camera footage,” said the arresting officer, Investigator Matthew Cox of the Georgetown County Sheriff’s Office.

Cox also credited the Horry County Police Department officers for assisting in the arrest.

They said Bell surrendered peacefully when confronted by police.
