One person is dead after a deputy-involved shooting in Andrews, according to Georgetown County Sheriff Carter Weaver.

Deputies responded to a report of a domestic disturbance at 183 Gator Lane.

The Sheriff's office says a man at the scene was killed after exchanging gunfire with deputies. The Coroner's Office identified the deceased as 31-year-old Kreen Cornell Bateman.

No deputies were injured and the sheriff's office says there is no danger to the public.

The South Carolina Law Enforcement Division (SLED) is helping in this investigation.

SLED says the incident marks the forty-fifth officer-involved shooting in the state this year, overtopping 43 in 2018. This is the second incident this year involving the GCSO.
