2 killed in single-car crash near Cherry Grove identified

According to an Horry County Deputy Coroner, Bradley Sessoms, 44, and Michael Landreth, 30, from Bladen County, NC were killed in a Friday night crash near Cherry Grove.

Two people were killed and another injured in the crash.

In a tweet, North Myrtle Beach Fire initially said multiple crews had been called to the scene of a wreck involving ejection and entrapment.

In a later tweet, fire officials said the battalion chief was on scene.

The chief confirmed that two people had been killed in the crash, and a third person had been taken to the hospital.

The North Myrtle Beach Fire Public Information Officer said it was a single vehicle crash. He said the car left the road, drove into the woods, and came to rest on its side.

Fire crews had to cut down trees to get to the vehicle.

Horry County Fire Rescue provided multiple aids to North Myrtle Beach Fire. South Carolina Highway Patrol was also at the scene.

All northbound lands of Highway 17 were diverted to Sea Mountain Highway.

Highway 17 was reopened early Saturday morning.
