Conway church passes out free water, snacks to drivers stuck in 501 traffic
Conway, S.C. (WPDE) —
Members of a Conway church have been out since Wednesday passing out free water and snacks to people stuck in traffic on 501 Business and Highway 544.
If you have been stuck in traffic, you know it can take you hours to navigate through the city of Conway.
The Seacoast Church pastor says it is the least they can do.
Those on the receiving end, say it goes a long way.
"When you're sitting in that traffic for an hour and half, two hours, you're just mad and cranky, as we all are. And sometimes a cold water and a laugh just helps to lighten the mood a little bit," says Seth Farrior, Pastor of Seacoast Church.
"It means a lot. You know, we're all in it together. And I appreciate it," says Mike Riddle, from Conway. "My mom and my dad, they're probably going to lose their house. They live in Conway over near the golf course."
The Seacoast Church is now open as a disaster relief distribution center.
It has pallets of water, food, and diapers.
The church is located at 1500 U.S. 501 Business in Conway.
