Confrontation leads to carjacking in Darlington County

Two men got into an altercation Wednesday night and that's when one of them carjacked the other's car, according to Lieutenant Robert Kilgo with the Darlington County Sheriff's Office.

It happened at 10 p.m. near E. Billy Farrow Hwy. and Jamestown Ave.

Kilgo said a male driver of a vehicle was trying to visit a girlfriend's home when the victim was carjacked by the girlfriend's ex-boyfriend.

Kilgo said one of the men was beaten up pretty badly and had to go to the hospital for his injuries.

They found the victim's car and are now looking for the suspect.

Kilgo said the men knew each other and they are treating the incident as a domestic related situation.
