Community to say good bye to McColl police chief
McColl, S.C. (WPDE) —
Funeral services are taking place Sunday for the Town of McColl Police Chief's Tommy Langley after he died last Wednesday following a brief illness .
Langley had served as the town's police chief for nearly 20 years.
His career in law enforcement spans back 30 years.
Many people in the community have posted messages on Langley's Facebook page expressing their grief and gratitude for what he did for McColl.
Mayor Bobby Odom released the following statement on Langley's death:
"Today the Town of McColl lost their police chief, Tommy Langley was loved and respected by all. He served the town of McColl fo many years, he was a mentor to so many young officers through the years, a leader in many areas of this town. He will be missed greatly. "
Langley leaves behind a wife, children and grandchildren.
He will be laid to rest Sunday.
His funeral service with law enforcement honors will be held 2:00 p.m. Sunday at McColl Church of God, with burial at Rogers Cemetery.
