College students spend spring break helping Horry County Habitat for Humanity

College students from Virginia, Florida and Pennsylvania are in town for spring break, but they're not here to party.

They're helping the Habitat for Humanity of Horry County.

Students learned how to sheet a roof and insulate a home. They even got to install windows and doors.

One student calls it the "collegiate challenge."

"It's a very, very rewarding experience. I mean it's hard work. It's hot it's, you know, we're swinging hammers and very sore but at the end of the day, knowing that somebody will be able to have a home. It's an incredible feeling," said Mike Roadcap, a sophomore at James Madison University.

The students will be back out there at the construction site tomorrow morning at 8.
