Clinton supporter headlines 16th Woman to Woman Conference
The 16th South Carolina Woman to Woman Conference Banquet was held in Marion Saturday. It honored women who go above and beyond the call of duty.
Awards were given to distinguished ladies for work across their communities.
This year the headline speaker was actress and women's advocate Erika Alexander. Alexander is a prominent American actress, best-known for her roles on The Cosby Show and Living Single. She currently appears on Last Man Standing and Bosch. She is writer and co-creator of "Best American Comic" Concrete Park. She will appear next year in the film Brave New Jersey. She has won numerous awards for her work, including two NAACP Image Awards for Outstanding Actress in a Comedy Series.
"Ms. Erika Alexander from the Cosby show and from Living Single is fortunate enough to say yes to come be our headline at our banquet to speak to the young ladies and the senior citizens of this community to empower the women that they can challenge themselves to do anything they desire if they just put their mind and heart to it," Conference Founder Reverend Marvin Hemingway said.
Alexander discussed the challenges facing women and girls across the country and her reasons for supporting Hillary Clinton in her campaign for president.
