CCU hosts 'Shark Tank' style event

CCU "Shark Tank" (WPDE)

Shark Tank, not the show but just like it, came to CCU Thursday night.

The event was designed to showcase local entrepreneurs.

Six area entrepreneurs pitched their business ideas in the Shark Tank-style setting to a panel of judges and an audience.

Once they were finished everyone voted for a winner.

Business owners thought it was a great idea!

"It's just great getting to see everybody coming together with great ideas, with great enthusiasm for building a business here in Myrtle Beach that expands outside of tourism and hospitality," said Jordan Brawner, CEO of Little Spider Adventure.

The winner earned a $200 prize.

CCU's college of science and college of business co-sponsored the event with the help of several local businesses.
