CCU football player charged with driving under the influence
Conway, S.C. (WPDE) —
A 21-year-old Coastal Carolina University football player was arrested early Friday morning on charges of driving under the influence.
Preston Ellsworth Carey, of Hagerstown, Md., was booked into the J. Reuben Long Detention Center just after 4 a.m. after being arrested by the South Carolina Highway Patrol, according to online records.
We have reached out to CCU officials for information on his status as a student, and with the team.
We have also reached out to the South Carolina Highway Patrol for more information on his arrest.
As of around noon on Friday, April 27, Carey is still in the detention center awaiting a bond hearing.
