Carolina Spotlight: Family donates dozens of Beanie Babies to pediatric unit
Myrtle Beach, S.C. (WPDE) —
A local family is helping hospitalized children smile a bit bigger at Grand Strand Medical Center.
A post on the center's Facebook page shows that a local family donated dozens of Beanie Babies to the pediatric unit.
Hospital officials say the family had been saving the Beanie Babies since they were released in the 90s and they always planned to donate them.
When the time came to do so, they went to the Grand Strand Medical Center pediatric unit with a red wagon filled with plush toys.
The family said their hope is that the toys cause many smiles and lots of happiness.
