Teachers say they'll use the money to help buy some much needed supplies for their classrooms.
"Every year we purchase new supplies and that money is never enough. So, this year, this means that we will be able to purchase more lessons for our students. That we can teach the students. And they all get excited when we bring a new lessons," said Cynthia Saxton, Teacher.
“It means a world of difference to our school. Teaching in a Montessori program we are constantly providing new lessons for our students, and getting some hands on materials. It definitely helps to replenish some of those. And to buy some new,” said Kimberly Rezzuti.
McLaurin Elementary Principal Deborah Cribb said the money is just what they needed.
“We’re gonna use the money directly for the children. Each teacher will be given a classroom allotment and they’ll be allowed to select the classroom and things that they need for their individual classrooms. Because they know those needs much better than I do, even as their administrator," said Cribb.
AdoptAClassroom.org is a United States-based nonprofit organization created to help teachers purchase supplies for their classrooms by allowing people to donate directly to a teacher.
