HORRY COUNTY, S.C. (WPDE) — A group is demanding an audit of every Horry County School library, over concerns of controversial books.
Moms for Liberty of Horry County says more than 70 books in school libraries contain inappropriate material, including pornography and incest.
Group chair David Warner says children should only be able to read or view such content with parental consent, which isn't possible inside of a school library.
"I think the biggest thing is it should be a decision that a parent makes," Warner said. "A parent is the one that is able to decide whether a child should be exposed to such things."

Opponents of the ban claim the group is trying to limit books with LGBTQ+ characters or storylines.
Warner says it's strictly about taking explicit content out of schools.
"This had nothing to do with any kind of particular group," he said. "If these books are vulgar, and they have vulgar content, then they should not be in there regardless of whether they're straight, gay, or any other group."
