A Bennettsville man was coming back from a funeral when he stopped and bought a lottery ticket that turned out to be a pretty big winner.

The man told lottery officials he was feeling blessed when he purchased the ticket and ended up winning $125,000.

He was coming from the funeral when he stopped at the One Stop on Hwy. 38 S. in Bennettsville and spent $5 on a scratch-off that won him the game’s top prize.

“This will make life easier,” he said, according to lottery officials.

One Stop in Bennettsville receives a $1,250 commission.

Two top prizes of $125,000 remain in the $5 Red Hot Cash game, at odds of 1 in 480,000.
