Samantha Lovette said she is planning a balloon release Saturday at the park on Hornets Road in Lumberton to celebrate the 22nd birthday of her daughter, Abby Lynn Patterson, who has been missing since September 5, 2017. She was 20-years-old when she went missing.

    Her birthday is February 15.

Lovette said they’ll attach information about Abby’s disappearance to the balloons and release them in the air. She’s hoping that the messages will reach someone who may know something about what happened to her daughter.

Police said Patterson was last seen getting into a brown Buick on East Ninth Street in Lumberton.

Officials with the Lumberton Police Department said they’ve followed a number of leads but have not determined what happened to Patterson after she left her home last year.

Lovette said she and her daughter are very close; they talked everyday and she deeply misses her child.

The FBI is assisting Lumberton police in the investigation. A$10,000 reward is being offered for information leading to Patterson being found. If you have any information in this case, you're asked to call the Lumberton Police Department at (910) 671-3845.
