Horry County police say they've arrested a person in connection to a shooting in Socastee, according to a release sent by Captain John Harrelson Monday morning.

Saulo Aaron Ventura, 19, of Socastee, was charged with attempted murder and possession of a weapon during a violent crime.

The shooting happened on Figure 8 Road around 1 p.m. Sunday.

A police report states officers got a call about five or six people fighting on a porch.

When they got there, the officer found two men walking down Figure Eight Road with one covered in blood and bleeding from the eye, according to a police report.

A witness told police that someone else had been shot and was inside a mobile home.

When police found the person, they were lying on the living room floor, bleeding from the chest from a gunshot wound, according to a police report.

One witness told police, according to a report, that he was asleep inside the home when his mother came inside shouting that someone was shooting. That's when he went to a home on Figure Eight Road and started separating the fight that was happening.

Another witness told police that a man with a gun was surrounded by people who wouldn't let him leave the area and that's when he pulled out the gun and fired shots up into the air, according to a police report.

Both victims were taken to the hospital and are expected to be OK.
