Wednesday night shooting makes fifth in one week in Robeson County

Deputies are investigating a shooting Wednesday afternoon on Baltimore Church Road near the Fairmont area of Robeson County, according to Robeson County Sheriff Ken Sealey.

Sealey said a man was wounded, but he’s not sure of his condition.

He added investigators are actively working to gather information to make an arrest.

They’re waiting on autopsy results to determine a cause and manner of death.

Since Thursday, there have been four deadly shootings in Robeson County,

Deputies are treating the deaths of a man and woman found dead Tuesday in a field off of Collins Mill Road near Fairmont as homicides.

Last Thursday, deputies said 17-year-old Jeremiah Dakota Locklear was shot and killed inside a home on Offie Jones Road, in Lumberton.

On Saturday, two people were shot and killed in the Rennert community, according to officials.

Tuesday morning, one person was killed on Daniel McLeod Road near the Red Springs area of Robeson County, according to officials. This man is wanted for murder.
