Animal shelter combats over-population of homeless animals with week-long kids camp
Georgetown County, S.C. (WPDE) —
Kids in Georgetown know how to better take care of their pets thanks to Camp Saint Frances.
The week-long camp at the Saint Frances Animal Center in Georgetown taught children about responsible pet ownership.
They learned about pet nutrition, dog behavior, and over-population, which lands animals in shelters like this one.
The shelter hopes it will inspire children to treat animals with care and perhaps volunteer at humane shelters when they're older.
Kids ages fifteen and up can volunteer at the Saint Frances Animal Center with a parent.
