Almost 2,000 temporarily without power in Nixonville area of Horry County
Horry County, S.C. (WPDE) —
Almost 2,000 people are without power in the Nixonville area of Horry County.
According to the Horry Electric Cooperative, Inc., website, 1,845 customers are affected by the outage.
The site says 554 members have called regarding the outage.
A post on the Horry Electric Cooperative, Inc., Facebook page reports that the outage was centered around the Nixonville substation.
Officials say a power transformer was damaged.
Power officials also said they are looking at options to backfeed so that service can be restored as quickly as possible.
No time estimates for restoring service are available at this time.
