4-year-old girl dies 15 days after Dillon County shooting

DILLON COUNTY, S.C. (WPDE) — A 4-year-old girl died 15 days after she was shot, according to Dillon County Coroner Donnie Grimsley.

Grimsley said the incident happened last month off of Mount Calvary Road in Dillon County.

Dillon County Sheriff Douglas Pernell said the day of the shooting the child’s older sibling told deputies they heard a loud noise in the home and found her badly hurt.

The child had to be airlifted to a hospital for her injuries.
