Man shot by Baldwin deputy after mother reportedly called for assistance

MILLEDGEVILLE, Ga. (WGXA) - The Georgia Bureau of Investigation is investigating a deputy-involved shooting that occurred in Baldwin County Monday afternoon.

It was reported that deputies responded to a domestic call for assistance at 49 West Apartments in Milledgeville around 2 p.m.

A woman called deputies for assistance with her son, according to the GBI. While deputies tried to put the man in custody, a deputy shot him once in the arm.

The man was taken to Navicent Health in Macon and is in stable condition. No deputies were injured.

The GBI will conduct an investigation to determine what occurred during the incident. After the investigation is complete, it will be turned over to the Baldwin County District Attorney's Office.
