ASHEVILLE, N.C. (AP) -- Authorities say they have charged a man with murder after he stabbed a 62-year-old woman in the head with a screwdriver in an Asheville parking lot.

Police told media outlets that they also found Christina Kessinger's car in Madison County where they took 29-year-old James Norton into custody on Saturday.

Investigators say Kessinger was attacked Friday in the parking lot of a small group of offices in north Asheville near Interstate 240.

Authorities say she was stabbed in the skull with a screwdriver. Paramedics revived her briefly before she died at the hospital.

Police haven't said why Norton attacked Kessinger. He was arrested at a relative's house in Madison County. It wasn't known if he had an attorney.
