Camp help children dealing with grief at early age

Nearly 80 children attended the Camp Happy Hearts held by Mercy Care Saturday at Christ United Methodist Church in Myrtle Beach. Many of the children were younger than ten.

The kids could participate in a variety of activities including playing in inflatables, getting science lessons and riding horses.

"It allows them to be a child again they can experience play and fun and laughter something they may not have been able to do lately due to the death of a loved one," program director Tom Badurski said.

Organizers say most of the kids attending Saturday lost a parent or sibling in the past two years.

"It's primarily for the children but as you can see a lot of the adults stay an observe and it helps them heal as well." Badurski added.

This is the 25th year for the camp.
