A TORNADO WATCH has been issued for the entire area until 4pm. A tornado watch means that conditions are favorable for severe thunderstorms capable of producing tornadoes.
The impact of the storm is already being felt in the Pee Dee. There have been reports of scattered power outages in Olanta, Scranton, Turbeville, Olanta and several areas south east of Florence. Also, of a mobile home blown off its foundation near Salem Road and Lamar Lane in Florence County.
A system with a history of producing severe weather will be moving through the area today. While this system is much weaker than it has been over the past 2 days when it was producing a major outbreak of tornadoes, it will bring the chance for severe storms to the area. There is still a slight risk for severe storms so stay tuned and make sure you are signed up for Alert 15 and 15 Weather Call if you haven't done so yet.
