Still cool but getting warmer
Thu, 28 Mar 2013 12:26:24 GMT —
High pressure will remain in control of our area for a few days. Today it is located to our west. With winds out of the North/Northwest between 10 - 20 mph, it will remain unseasonably cool with highs in the mid to upper 50s. Temps will drop into the low to mid 30s tonight. A Freeze Warning has been issued for tonight for Darlington, Dillon, and Marlboro counties in SC and Scotland and Robeson in NC. Temperatures are forecast to be around or below freezing for several hours. This could potentially have impacts on sensitive vegetation, field crops that may be blooming and budding, as well as plants or bushes. Take necessary precautions to protect them.
Also make sure you bring your pets inside or give them a warm place to stay to get out of the cold. They get cold just like you and I. Make sure you check on their water that it has not frozen over.
Over the weekend the ridge of high pressure will move off of the East Coast bringing warmer flow out of the South. Temps will reach the 60s all weekened with a few 70s possible Sunday Inland. A warm front will be lifting through the area on Sunday bringing more clouds and even a few showers to the second half of the day. The tailing system and cold front will slowly move in for Monday and Tuesday bringing in a better chance for rain.
