An EF 0 tornado with estimated winds of 60 miles per hour touched down in the Socastee, Burgess area of Horry County Saturday afternoon.
The National Weather Service in investigating and will release a full report later.
"The Enhanced Fujita scale (EF scale) rates the strength of tornadoes based on the damage they cause. The scale goes from 0 to 5 with an EF-0 having winds less than 85 mph and an EF-5 having winds greater than 200 mph," according to Chief Meteorologist Ed Piotrowski.
