More rain & storms. Flooding concerns
Mon, 01 Jul 2013 12:45:18 GMT — A front stalled to our West and the Bermuda High pressure system off to our East will combine to keep the flow of tropical air across the East Coast. Periodic heavy rain and a very saturated ground will increase the threat for flooding across the area. A flood watch has been issued. A few strong storms will be possible with a lot of lightning and strong wind gusts.
High pressure off of the East Coast will gradually build back West pushing the tropical moisture west and decreasing the rain chances across the area by weeks end. The 4th of July may see a few storms, mainly in the afternoon and evening, along with plenty of heat and humidity. Temps will remain in the mid to upper 80s near the Beaches and around 90° Inland.
The tropics remain quiet. Get the latest tropical updates during hurricane season at our Hurricane Central page.
