Hot start, more rain moving in

High pressure remains off of the East Coast pumping in a very hot and humid airmass. High temperatures will once again reach the 90s area wide with heat index values around 100°. With a slow moving front heading into the area by tomorrow, the chance for a few showers and storms scattered will be around in the afternoon and evening through Tuesday. A cold front will stall across the Carolinas by midweek. Rain chances will increase with periods of heavy rain and storms through the start of the weekend . Temperatures will drop into the low to mid 80s with the increase in rain and cloud cover
