The National Weather Service has issued a Severe Thunderstorm Watch for the following South Carolina counties in our area until 9 p.m.: Darlington, Dillon, Florence, Georgetown, Horry, Marion and Marlboro.
Robeson and Scotland counties in North Carolina are included in the watch.
A cold front moving through the Carolinas this afternoon will bring the slight chance for storms to develop during the afternoon and evening. A few storms may be severe with the primary threat being large hail.
Severe storms may also have damaging wind gusts over 60mph.
The risk of a tornado is small, but it isn't zero.
