Despite a weak cold front approaching Thursday, temps will soar into the mid/upper 80s to low 90s. With muggy conditions heat index values will top around 100°. The cold front will bring in a chance for scatttered showers and storms mainly in the afternoon. The front will stall South of the area Friday drying us out and bringing the temps back to the mid and upper 80s. Over the weekend, high pressure will build back in from the Atlantic increasing the heat, humidity, and chance for afternoon storms.
A series of tropical waves extend across the Atlantic through Africa. These are not forecast to develop over the next 2 days, but warrant watching through the weekend.
