Canadian high pressure will slowly build Southeast over the next few days. Today will still be quite cool and breezy with wind gusts in the mid 20s. Temps will be a bit warmer than the past few days with highs in the mid to upper 50s.
As the high approaches, our winds will diminish and temps will fall rapidly overnight. Temps will drop into the low to mid 30s and several hours will remain around freezing. A Freeze Watch has been issued for tonight into Thursday morning. During this time temperatures are forecast to be around or below freezing for several hours. This could potentially have impacts on sensitive vegetation, field crops that may be blooming and budding, as well as plants or bushes. Take necessary precautions to protect them.
Also make sure you bring your pets inside or give them a warm place to stay to get out of the cold. They get cold just like you and I. Make sure you check on their water that it has not frozen over.
High pressure will push East over the weekend shutting off the unseasonably cool air flow and warmer conditions will return. Temps will reach the 60s all weekened. A cold front will approach the east Sunday into Monday bringing in a few more clouds and even the slight chance for showers.
