Chilly, windy today. Freeze warning tonight

With cold air moving in, a Freeze Warning has been issued for tonight.

An Arctic cold front moved through early this morning. Cold air will surge into the area today with windy conditions and highs only reaching the low 50s. Wind gusts will peak around 30 mph. With dry, windy conditions in the forecast for today we will be looking for an elevated fire risk.

High pressure will build in behind the front and calm our winds tonight. With clear skies overhead, temps will drop into the mid and upper 20s overnight. With the growing season beginning and below freezing temperatures tonight, a Freeze Warning has been issued for our entire area from 11pm tonight through 10am tomorrow. Make sure you protect your tender vegetation, bring in the plants you can and cover those exposed to the cold. Also make sure you give your pets a warm place to stay or bring them inside as they get cold too.

A system to our West will approach the East through the weekend. Clouds will be increasing Friday and rain chances will be on the rise over the weekend. You can always track our rain on First Alert Live Doppler 15000 or if you have an iPhone or Android make sure you download or app! Saturday will remain cloudy and chilly with occasional showers while Sunday will be a bit warmer but have a better chance for rain.

      Tonight:Clear and cold. Freeze warning. Lows:Mid/Upper 20s.
