Lingering snow showers expected Wednesday night, icy conditions Thursday morning
UPDATED: Jan. 17, 2018 - 6pm
A wave of low pressure moving along the cold front today delayed the arrival of air sufficiently cold enough for snow.
The first band of mainly rain is moving out of the area. The second band (scattered snow showers) across the Pee Dee and the Upstate will move through the area this evening. Because the activity will be scattered, accumulations will range from nothing to 1/2".
Any rain or snow that doesn't evaporate WILL freeze tonight. Temperatures will drop below freezing between 8pm -10pm. Icy conditions are likely through mid-morning. Any ice and snow should completely melt and dry up thanks to sunshine and temperatures climbing into the mid-40s.
A nice warming trend is on the way. Over the weekend we will climb into the 60s with lots of sun.
