Six North Myrtle Beach athletes sign college letters

A school record six athletes signed college letters on the same day at North Myrtle Beach High.

The largest single signing day in the history of North Myrtle Beach High, featuring two future divison one athletes, took place on Friday in Little River.

WPDE All-Hoop Zone star India Farmer signed with the South Carolina Lady Gamecocks basketball program. She averaged 15 points and 10 rebounds her senior season for the Lady Chiefs. Farmer played in the prestigious Carolinas Classic All-Star game.

Another WPDE All-Hoop Zone selection, Taylor Allman, has signed to play volleyball at Charleston Southern. Allman led North Myrtle Beach to the 2013 Class 3A volleyball championship and a record of 30-1.

All-State selection and WPDE All-Hoop Zoner Jaquan Grissett signed with Olney Central College in Illinois. Grissett was the Class 3A Region 7 Player of the Year, and was a Mister Hoop Zone Finalist. He earned MVP honors leading the Chiefs to the tournament championship at the Shootout by the Sea in December, and led the Chiefs to a region championship.

Moriah Jones has signed to play volleyball at Tusculum College in Tennessee, Joey Small signed to wrestle at Coker College, and Barbara Long will swim at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute.
