Seven Sharks sign to play baseball

Seven Sharks sign on Thursday

The Saint James baseball team is ranked 2nd in the preseason class 3A state poll for South Carolina and the Sharks already have had a successful season before the very first pitch. Seven seniors signed letters of intent to play college baseball. Tanner English gave a verbal commitment to Coastal Carolina last year, but changed his pledge to play for Ray Tanner and the South Carolina Gamecocks. Gunnar Heidt has hit .473 in three seasons of high school baseball and should become a part of the College of Charleston's infield. Both Division I signees formally signed in November, but wanted to wait to have a formal ceremony until all of their teammates made their college plans official.
