Jaylen Shaw leaving Gamecocks basketball program

The 2013 Mr. Hoop Zone winner out of Hartsville, Jaylen Shaw is transferring from South Carolina.

South Carolina Gamecocks guard Jaylen Shaw is transferring from the school after one season.

Shaw, who won the 2013 WPDE Mr. Hoop Zone Award as the area's top high school basketball player at Hartsville, has not yet decided on his next college destination. He has three years of eligibility remaining.

In his freshman season with the Gamecocks, Shaw averaged less than ten minutes of playing time over 28 games. He scored three points a contest.

Shaw's departure from the Gamecocks program is said to be a mutual agreement with South Carolina Head Coach Frank Martin.
